| This design has a
lower sump case which eliminates gear contact with the oil in the horizontal
position and reduces contact with the oil in side tilt applications up to 30
degrees. Continuous operation in extreme side tilt applications in ordinary
units can immerse one or more gears totally in oil causing heating and gear
damage due to churning of the oil. The lube pump supplies oil to all gear
meshes, splines and bearings at all times using internal plumbing in the
casting. There are no external lines to leak or become broken. A pressure
switch is also included which can be wired to a panel light to warn if low
oil pressure is encountered.
This pump drive also employs new high contact ratio spur gears for quiet operation and continued ease of service. Cylindrical roller bearings are used so there is no need to shim the bearings. The unit is rated up to 950HP (2000 lb-ft @ 2500 RPM) input and will drive up to five pumps. |
