Caerbont Automotive Instruments
CAI was formed in October 1993 by the MBO of VDO Caerbont Instruments from its German owners. The roots can, however, be traced back to the Smiths Industries Instrument business, which was sold to Lucas in 1983. The MBO saw an oppertunity to provide a service tailored to the needs of the specialist vehicle manufacturers. 

Caerbont offers a complete line of quality ISO-9001-certified, manufactured gauges, sending units and accessories designed for a wide range of engine-monitoring applications.

While maintaining the production of Britain's famous Smiths instruments, Max Hand Tacho's and a specific set for the AC Cobra, technologically superb ranges including the International and Telemetrix Range have been developed for the International market.
